A standard referee kit (jersey, shorts, socks), whistle, watch with stopwatch, flags for assistant referees, and comfortable athletic shoes.

Yes. The equipment and uniform can be purchased for around $60 dollars. The league offers a $75 reimbursement to referees that have worked three weekends.

We use Stack Officials to assign games. Set your availability, accept assignments, and communicate with the assignor through the platform.

You control your schedule. Work as many or as few games as you’d like based on your availability.

Most assignments are local. As you gain experience, you may have the option to take games in nearby communities if you want more opportunities.

Pay varies by age group and role, but youth games commonly range from $30–$60 per game. Work a few games on a Saturday and it adds up quickly.

Payment is typically handled per game and may be processed through the assigning platform or directly by the league, depending on the setup.

You are responsible for updating your availability and notifying the assignor as early as possible so coverage can be arranged.

New referees typically begin with younger age groups and small-sided games. As you gain experience and confidence, you’ll be assigned to older and more competitive matches.

You should be able to move consistently and keep up with play, but you don’t need elite fitness—especially when starting with younger games.

Yes. New referees receive initial guidance, and ongoing mentorship is available to help you improve and move into higher-level games.

Yes. Referees who develop their skills can move into higher age groups, competitive leagues, and even regional or state-level assignments.
